Some Risk Factors for Women’s Health
There are many risk factors for women’s health and it is important women are aware of these critical diseases so that they can figure out ways to prevent it from happening.
One of these diseases is heart disease. Blocked blood vessels cause incredible strain on the heart and can trigger heart attacks in women. Research suggest that women are more likely than men to suffer from a second hard attack if they don’t implement preventive tactics like ending smoking and alcohol intake.
The next risk factor for women’s health is Osteoporosis which is caused by lack of calcium and vitamin. Women can prevent this by taking sufficient calcium and vitamin D in their diets. Milk and plenty of sunshine will definitely help.
Colon or rectal cancer is another leading cause of death for women. Research suggests African and Asian women are part of the high risk group for rectal cancer. To combat this, you should have regular colonoscopy and eat plenty of high fiber foods and green vegetables.
Another threat to women’s health is depression. Causes of depression include hormonal changes, menopause, pregnancy and daily stress factors. Women often turn to substance abuse and alcohol to find relief from depression but of course these things just make things even worse. To prevent depression, women should engage in fitness activities, schedule relax time and have enough sleep.
Finally, another threat is alcoholism. More and more women today are drinking because they feel unhappier and less fulfilled. As such, they increase their risk for cancer, colon and liver cancer because alcohol eliminates good healthy immune cells. Women should have moderation when it comes to drinking and have plenty of water to combat loss of water when they drink alcohol.
